Requirements
- ·Requires Service Cloud Einstein license. Einstein Bots is not included in base Sales Cloud or standard Service Cloud licenses.
- ·Editing an active bot requires deactivating it first. During the deactivation and reactivation period, the chatbot will not be available to end users, which may interrupt service.
- ·Changes to bot dialogs take effect immediately after reactivation. There is no additional propagation period.
Access Setup
Click the gear icon (⚙) in the upper right corner of Salesforce and select 'Setup'. You need administrator permissions and an active Service Cloud Einstein license.
Navigate to Einstein Bots
In the Setup Quick Find search bar, type 'Einstein Bots' and select 'Einstein Bots' from the results. The list of bots configured in your organization will be displayed.
Select the bot you want to edit
Click on the name of the bot you want to modify. The bot configuration page will open with its current status (Active or Inactive) and management options.
Deactivate the bot if it is active
If the bot is in 'Active' status, click the 'Deactivate' button to deactivate it before editing. Confirm the action in the dialog box. The bot will be inactive and will not respond to users during editing.
Open the Bot Builder
Click the 'Open in Bot Builder' or 'Edit Bot' button to open the bot's visual editor. The Bot Builder will load with the bot's dialog flow diagram.
Locate the dialog you want to edit
In the left panel of the Bot Builder, navigate through the list of Dialogs. Find the dialog related to the topic you want to modify (for example: 'Pricing Questions' or 'Pricing FAQ'). Click on it to open it.
Edit the Message step
Inside the dialog, locate the element of type 'Message' that contains the response you want to change. Click on it to select it. In the properties panel on the right, edit the message text with the new response.
Save the dialog
Click 'Save' or the save button on the dialog panel. The changes are saved in the dialog but the bot is not yet active. Check that there are no validation errors in the Bot Builder before continuing.
Test the bot in Preview mode
Use the Bot Builder's Preview panel to test the new response before activating. Type the question that triggers the edited dialog and verify that the response is correct.
Reactivate the bot
Close the Bot Builder and return to the bot configuration page in Setup. Click 'Activate' to reactivate the bot. The changes take effect immediately across all channels where the bot is deployed.
