How to block a day in my calendar
Salesforce does not have a dedicated button to block an entire calendar day. The standard method is to create an all-day Event marked as Busy for the desired date. If you use Salesforce Inbox for scheduling, you must also update the availability in the Scheduling Page settings separately.
How to do it in Teeo
“Block next Monday entirely in my calendar”
The day is blocked. It will not appear as available for new appointments.
How to block a day in my calendar in Salesforce: step by step
Requirements
- ·Salesforce does not have a 'Block Day' button. An all-day Event marked as Busy is used as an alternative.
- ·If you have Salesforce Inbox with an active Scheduling Page, the all-day event in the native calendar does not automatically block your availability on that page. You must manually update the availability settings in Inbox Settings.
- ·All-day events in Salesforce appear at the top of the calendar view, but they do not prevent other agents from scheduling meetings on that day unless they are using the same shared calendar.
Access the calendar from Home
Log in to Salesforce and click 'Home' in the main navigation bar. Locate the calendar widget in the main or side panel. Click 'View Calendar' to open the full calendar view.
Navigate to next Monday
Use the calendar navigation controls (left and right arrows) to move to the week containing next Monday. You can switch the view to 'Week' or 'Month' as preferred to better locate the date.
Create a new event on that day
Click on the 'All Day' area at the top of the Monday column, or click the 'New Event' button at the top of the screen. The event creation form will open.
Enable the all-day event option
In the event form, find the 'All Day Event' or 'All-Day' field and check the box. When this option is enabled, the start and end time fields will disappear, and the event will cover all 24 hours of the selected day.
Enter the subject and verify the date
In the 'Subject' field, enter 'Blocked – Not Available' or similar descriptive text. Verify that the 'Date' field shows the correct date for next Monday. Adjust if necessary.
Mark the time as Busy
Find the 'Show Time As' or 'Availability' field in the form. Select 'Busy' from the dropdown menu so that day appears as unavailable in your calendar.
Save the event
Click 'Save' to create the all-day event. Monday will be marked as busy in your Salesforce calendar. Verify in the monthly or weekly view that the event appears correctly on the indicated date.
