Pipedrive vs Teeo

How to search for a lead

Pipedrive offers two main ways to search for a lead: the global search bar at the top of the screen, which searches across the entire CRM, and the Leads Inbox section with advanced filters. Both options require knowing the lead's name or some contact detail. In Teeo, one message brings results instantly with the full history.

How to search for a lead in Pipedrive: step by step

Requirements

  • ·Pipedrive distinguishes between 'Leads' (in Leads Inbox) and 'Contacts/Persons' (in the Contacts section). The global search finds both types.
  • ·Pipedrive's global search searches by name, company, email address, phone number, and notes.
  • ·Leads Inbox has its own search filter that only applies to leads in that specific section.
  • ·If you cannot find the lead by name, try searching by email or company to broaden the results.
  1. Log in to Pipedrive

Go to app.pipedrive.com and enter your credentials. Once inside, you will be on the main pipeline view or the home screen.

  2. Use the global search bar

At the top of the screen, click the magnifying glass icon (🔍) or the search bar. Type 'John García'. Pipedrive will start showing real-time results as you type, grouped by type: Contacts, Deals, Organizations, and Leads.

  3. Select the correct result

In the search results panel, look for 'John García' under the 'Contacts' or 'Leads' category. If there are multiple contacts with that name, verify the email address or company to identify the right one. Click on the name to open the record.

  4. Review the lead information

When you open John García's record, you will see all the information: contact details (phone, email, company), scheduled and past activities, notes, associated deals, and the current pipeline status. In the 'Leads' tab, you will see if there is an active lead in the Leads Inbox.

  5. Alternative search from Leads Inbox

If you prefer to search directly in the Leads section, go to the sidebar and click 'Leads' > 'Leads Inbox'. At the top of the list, you will find a search field, or use the filter icon (funnel) to filter by name, owner, source, or other criteria.

  6. Use advanced filters if basic search is not enough

If you cannot find the lead by name, in the Leads Inbox or Contacts view click 'Filter' or 'Add filter'. You can filter by email address, phone number, company name, creation date, lead owner, or custom fields. Apply the filters and the list will update with matching results.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between searching in the global search bar and searching in Leads Inbox in Pipedrive?

The global search bar at the top searches across the entire CRM: contacts, deals, organizations, leads, and notes. It is the most comprehensive option. The Leads Inbox search only applies to records that are active in that specific section. If a lead was converted to a deal or is archived, it will not appear in the Leads Inbox search but will appear in the global search.

Does Pipedrive also search the content of notes and activity history?

Yes. Pipedrive's global search indexes note content and can find records based on note text. However, searching within note content may be slower and less precise than searching by name or email. For more advanced searches, use the filters available in the Contacts or Leads views.

Can I save a search or filter in Pipedrive to reuse it?

Yes. In the Contacts, Leads, and Deals views, Pipedrive allows you to save custom filters as 'Saved views'. Once you configure the desired filters, click 'Save view' and give it a name. It will appear as an option in the sidebar for quick access in the future.
