How to delete stages from my pipeline
Deleting a stage in Pipedrive requires accessing the pipeline settings, identifying the stage to remove, and deciding what to do with active deals in it. Requirements
- ·Only account administrators can delete pipeline stages.
- ·If the stage has active deals, Pipedrive will not allow deletion until they are reassigned to another stage.
- ·This action is irreversible: once the stage is deleted, it cannot be restored.
Log in as an administrator
Go to app.pipedrive.com with an administrator account. Pipeline editing permissions are only available for this role.
Check active deals in the stage to be deleted
Before going to settings, go to the pipeline view (sidebar > Deals) and review how many deals are in the stage you want to delete. Note or filter those deals to determine their new stage.
Go to Company settings > Pipelines
Click your avatar in the bottom-left corner and select 'Company settings'. In the settings sidebar, click 'Pipelines'.
Select the pipeline containing the stage to delete
In the pipelines list, click the name of the pipeline that contains the stage you want to remove. The edit view will open showing all its stages.
Find the stage and click the delete icon
Locate the stage you want to delete in the list. To the right of its name you will see a trash icon or a three-dot menu with a 'Delete' option. Click it.
Reassign active deals to another stage
If the stage has active deals, Pipedrive will show a warning dialog. Select the destination stage in the dropdown where those deals will be moved. This is required before confirming the deletion.
Confirm the deletion
After selecting the destination stage for the deals, click 'Delete stage' or 'Confirm' to finalize. Pipedrive will delete the stage and automatically move all deals to the newly selected stage.
Verify the pipeline was correctly updated
Close the settings and go to the pipeline view (Deals). Confirm that the deleted stage no longer appears and that the deals that were in it are now in the correct stage.
Frequently asked questions
What happens to deals when I delete a stage in Pipedrive?
Pipedrive does not allow deleting a stage that has active deals without first reassigning them. When you try to delete the stage, a dialog will appear where you must select the destination stage for all deals. Once the reassignment is confirmed, the stage is deleted and deals are automatically moved to the new stage.
Can a deleted stage be recovered in Pipedrive?
No. Stage deletion in Pipedrive is irreversible. Once deleted, there is no 'undo' option or way to restore the stage. That is why it is important to first review which deals are in the stage and plan their reassignment before proceeding with the deletion.
Do I need to be an admin to delete stages in Pipedrive?
Yes. Only users with an administrator role in Pipedrive can access Company settings > Pipelines and modify or delete stages. Users with standard sales roles do not have access to this settings section.
