How to edit my chatbot responses
Copper CRM does not include a native chatbot. To have a chatbot integrated with Copper, the typical solution is to connect Intercom (or Drift) via Zapier or the Copper API. Chatbot responses are edited directly in Intercom. The process takes around 20 minutes. In Teeo, you edit assistant responses in a single message.
How to do it in Teeo
“Edit my chatbot responses: when someone asks about pricing, respond with [new response]”
The chatbot responses are updated immediately across all channels where it's active.
How to edit my chatbot responses in Copper: step by step
Requirements
- ·Copper CRM has no native chatbot. There is no section within Copper to configure or edit bot responses.
- ·The standard workaround is to use Intercom or Drift as a standalone chatbot and connect it to Copper via Zapier or API to sync leads and contacts.
- ·The steps described below correspond to editing responses in Intercom, which is the most common chatbot tool used alongside Copper.
- ·An active Intercom account (Starter plan from ~$74/month) and a previously configured integration with Copper are required.
Log in to Intercom (not Copper)
Go to app.intercom.com and sign in with your Intercom account. Remember that Copper has no native chatbot; responses are managed in Intercom, which is connected to Copper via Zapier or API.
Navigate to 'Fin' or 'Bots' in Intercom
In the Intercom sidebar, navigate to 'Fin' (Intercom's AI bot) or to 'Automation > Bots' if you use a Resolution Bot or Custom Bot. Here you will find all configured bots.
Select the bot you want to edit
Click the name of the active bot (e.g., 'Sales Bot' or 'Pricing Bot'). The bot's flow or response editor will open.
Find the response related to pricing
In the bot editor, find the branch or condition that triggers when a user asks about pricing. You can search by keywords ('pricing', 'price', 'cost', 'rate') in the editor's search bar.
Click the response block to edit it
Select the message block containing the pricing response. The editor will allow you to modify the text, add quick action buttons, or change the conversation flow.
Edit the response text
Replace the current text with the new response. You can use rich text formatting, emojis, lists, or buttons depending on what your Intercom plan supports. Make sure the new response is clear and actionable for the user.
Add or update the keywords that trigger this response
If the bot uses keyword-based intent detection, verify that the keywords associated with this response ('price', 'cost', 'how much', 'rate') are up to date. Add variations if needed.
Preview the bot flow
Use the 'Preview' or 'Test bot' button in Intercom to simulate the conversation and verify that the new response triggers correctly when a user asks about pricing.
Save and publish the changes
Click 'Save' and then 'Set live' or 'Publish' to make the changes active in the production chatbot. Changes will apply immediately across all channels where the Intercom bot is active.
