Copper vs Teeo

How to block a day in my calendar

Copper CRM does not allow blocking days directly from its interface. Since it syncs bidirectionally with Google Calendar, the way to block an entire day is to create an all-day event in Google Calendar marked as 'Busy'. The block syncs to Copper and the day no longer appears as available for new appointments. In Teeo, one message is enough.

How to block a day in my calendar in Copper: step by step

Requirements

  • ·Copper CRM does NOT have a native feature to block days in the calendar. There is no 'block day' button anywhere within the platform.
  • ·The method is to create an all-day event in Google Calendar marked as 'Busy'. Copper syncs this event and reflects it in its activities view.
  • ·For the block to prevent new bookings, the booking system (Calendly, Google Appointment Slots) must be connected to the same Google Calendar.
  • ·All-day events in Google Calendar have no specific start or end time, automatically covering all 24 hours of the day.
  1. Open Google Calendar

Go to calendar.google.com and sign in with the Google Workspace account linked to your Copper CRM. Use the same account so the block syncs correctly with Copper and any connected booking tool.

  2. Navigate to next Monday

Use the navigation arrows at the top to move to the week containing next Monday. The week view ('Week') is most practical for identifying and clicking on the correct day.

  3. Create an all-day event on Monday

Click on the date area of Monday (at the top of the day, where the number appears). Google Calendar recognizes this click as creating an all-day event. In the box that appears, type the title 'Blocked — No Availability' and click 'More options'.

  4. Confirm it is an all-day event

On the event editing screen, verify that the 'All day' checkbox is checked. If it is not, enable it. This ensures the block covers all 24 hours of Monday without needing to specify a start or end time.

  5. Mark the event as Busy

Find the availability status field, usually located below the guests or description options. Make sure to select 'Busy' (not 'Free'). This setting is what effectively blocks the day in booking systems connected to your calendar.

  6. Save the event

Click 'Save'. Google Calendar will register the all-day event on the selected Monday. The event will appear at the top of the day (all-day events area) and mark that Monday as busy.

  7. Verify the block in Copper and your booking system

Log in to Copper (app.copper.com) and go to the activities view. The blocking event should appear synced. If you use Calendly or another booking system connected to Google Calendar, verify that next Monday no longer appears available for reservations by visiting your booking link.

Frequently asked questions

Can I block a day directly from the Copper app?

No. Copper CRM does not have a native feature to block days in the calendar. The only way is to create an all-day event in Google Calendar marked as 'Busy', which automatically syncs with Copper. To block the day in your booking system (Calendly, etc.), the block must also be done in Google Calendar.

Does an all-day event in Google Calendar also block meetings already scheduled that day?

No. An all-day event marked as 'Busy' blocks availability for new bookings but does not cancel or modify existing meetings on that day. If you need to cancel existing meetings, you must do so manually from each event in Google Calendar or from Copper.

What is the difference between marking an event as 'Busy' versus 'Free' in Google Calendar?

When an event is marked as 'Busy', connected booking systems (like Calendly or Google Appointment Slots) will not offer that time as available for reservations. When marked as 'Free', the event appears on the calendar but does not block availability, meaning others could still schedule meetings during those same hours.
