Close vs Teeo

How to block time slots in my calendar

Close CRM does not have a native function to block time slots in a scheduling calendar. To block time slots, you work directly in Google Calendar (synced with Close) by creating blocking events, or in Calendly by adjusting availability hours. The process takes 10 to 15 minutes. In Teeo, you describe the block to the assistant and it is registered instantly.

How to do it in Teeo

Type or send a voice message to your Teeo assistant:

Block from 2pm to 4pm every Tuesday this month in my calendar

The time blocks are registered. No meetings can be scheduled during those times.

How to do it in Close?

How to block time slots in my calendar in Close: step by step

Requirements

  • ·Close CRM has no native calendar time management; blocking is done in Google Calendar or Calendly.
  • ·Blocking events in Google Calendar sync to Close as 'Meeting' type activities.
  • ·For recurring blocks (like every Tuesday), use recurring events in Google Calendar.
  1. Open Google Calendar

Go to calendar.google.com with the account connected to Close CRM. Make sure you are in the month or week view to see all Tuesdays of the month.

  2. Select the first Tuesday of the month

Click on the 2:00 PM time slot of the first Tuesday of the current month to start creating the blocking event.

  3. Create a blocking event

In the quick creation popup, type the name: 'BLOCKED - Not available'. Click 'More options' to configure the exact duration.

  4. Set the time from 2pm to 4pm

In the time fields, set start to 2:00 PM and end to 4:00 PM. Verify the date is the correct Tuesday.

  5. Configure the event as recurring

In the 'Does not repeat' section, click it and select 'Custom'. Configure: repeats weekly, every week, on Tuesdays. In 'Ends', select 'On date' and choose the last day of the current month.

  6. Mark the event as 'Busy'

In the event options, make sure the status is 'Busy' and not 'Free'. This is key for Calendly to detect the block and not allow scheduling during those times.

  7. Save the recurring event

Click 'Save'. Google Calendar will confirm that multiple events will be created. Confirm for all events in the series.

  8. Verify in Calendly or Close

If you use Calendly, verify that Tuesdays from 2pm to 4pm no longer appear as available on your scheduling page. In Close, the blocks will appear as activities in the calendar.

Frequently asked questions

Can time slots be blocked directly in Close CRM?

Not directly. Close CRM has no calendar time blocking function. Blocking is done in Google Calendar (creating blocking events marked as 'Busy') or in Calendly (adjusting availability). These changes are reflected in Close through Google Calendar sync.

How does Calendly know a time slot is blocked in Google Calendar?

Calendly checks your availability in real time against your Google Calendar. If there is an event marked as 'Busy' in Google Calendar during a specific time, Calendly automatically excludes it from the available slots so prospects cannot schedule during that time.

What is the fastest way to block recurring time slots in a sales calendar?

The fastest way is with Teeo CRM. You write: 'Block from 2pm to 4pm every Tuesday this month in my calendar' and the blocks are registered immediately, without creating manual events or configuring recurrences across multiple platforms.
