Requirements

  • ·Only moderators and administrators of the workgroup can delete wiki pages in Bitrix24. Authors can edit but cannot always delete.
  • ·Deleting a page in Bitrix24 is permanent for standard users. System administrators can recover deleted pages from the recycle bin for a limited period.
  • ·If the page to delete has subpages, you must first delete the subpages or move them elsewhere before deleting the parent page.
  1. Log in to Bitrix24

Go to your Bitrix24 domain and enter your credentials. Make sure you have moderator or administrator role in the workgroup, as members with author or reader role cannot delete pages.

  2. Navigate to Collaboration > Knowledge Base

In the left navigation bar, click 'Collaboration' and then 'Knowledge Base'. The list of workgroups with available wikis will be displayed.

  3. Access the correct workgroup

Click the workgroup that contains the information you want to delete. If you don't remember which group it's in, use Bitrix24's general search bar to find it.

  4. Locate the page to delete

Navigate through the wiki page structure or use the internal search to find the page containing the information to delete. Open the page to confirm it's the correct one.

  5. Check for subpages

Before deleting, check if the page has nested subpages (you'll see a subpages indicator in the navigation tree). If it does, you must first delete or move the subpages. Otherwise, Bitrix24 may prevent the deletion or leave subpages orphaned.

  6. Access the page options menu

With the page open, look for the options menu (usually represented by three dots '...' or a gear icon next to the page title). Click to expand the available options.

  7. Select delete and confirm

In the options menu, click 'Delete'. Bitrix24 will show a confirmation message asking if you're sure you want to delete the page. Confirm the action. The page will be deleted and no longer visible to group members.

Frequently asked questions

Can a deleted knowledge base page be recovered in Bitrix24?

It depends on the role. System administrators can access Bitrix24's recycle bin and recover deleted pages for a limited period. Standard users and moderators cannot recover deleted pages on their own. It's recommended to export content before deleting if there's any doubt.

What happens to subpages if I delete a parent page in Bitrix24's knowledge base?

Bitrix24 may block deletion if the page has subpages, or in some cases the subpages become orphaned at the wiki root. To avoid issues, always delete or move subpages before deleting the parent page.

Can I delete Bitrix24 knowledge base pages in bulk?

No. Bitrix24 does not offer a bulk wiki page deletion feature from the standard interface. Each page must be deleted individually. If you need to clean up the knowledge base in bulk, consider archiving the entire workgroup instead of deleting pages one by one.
